This rustic, natural grey yarn is from sheep wool and yak fiber right in the Chadron, Nebraska area and was milled in Stromsburg, Nebraska. I helped shear the sheep, comb the yaks, and then drove the fiber to the mill. This yarn would make fantastic warm mittens or hats. I can't stop touching the test swatches!
Because it has had no rough chemical treatment you may find some seeds/hay in the yarn. It is because no matter how much we want the sheep to stay clean, they like to graze in the pastures with plants. And it never seems to fail that some sheep like to jump under the hay while eating. These pick out easily enough as you work with the wool.
